Trash the Site?

Okay, I know what you are thinking, "Why trash the site, it is up and running?" unfortunately, I don't agree with that statement, "The Great Siege" as a website concept, it all together close-minded. Before thinking I am crazy, let's just listen to reason really fast. I have prepared several reasons for why we should trash the site, and make a new website that could be better.

Reasons to trash this website and start a new website:
1) The website has 5 users, 3 are active, and Psycho.Crazy, one of the active users, has not been online in 3 days.
2) No emoticons have been imported so it isn't like the website will be hard to move.
3) The Great Siege is close-minded, it will only get us so far in recruiting, and we don't have a central hub to run everything from on Warcraft 3, considering we are all in different clans.
4) All data, such as Character Suggestions, and what have you, can just be moved to the other website, in an Archives section.

Now, those are some pretty good reasons to trash this website, however if you are still not convinced lets look at some other aspects of the situation. The Great Siege 1.14 has not yet been finished, and until it is, which will be awhile from now, it will be hard to get people to Beta Test it. The Ultimate Gamers was a good idea for a website, we just never recruited, and everyone was spread out on different games, Dark_Raptor barely played Warcraft 3, I don't know where Psycho.Crazy was, and the only people who were actively online didn't even play games with us, while me and CommisarXlucky were stuck on Warcraft as loners.

Anyways, the bottom-line here is, had we stuck with Ultimate Gamers, and been on one page, like we are on now, we could have done much more with the forums, rather than letting it die, and splitting apart as users.

I have thought of a basic idea for the website, it seems to be pretty good, and if we were to form a Clan on Warcraft 3. I think it would be much easier to run the new website. The Clan name would be T.W.U.; The Warcraft Union, The Clan would be based around several aspects of the game, AoS, Ladder, Role-Play's, and of course, Map Making (The Great Siege). We could get other Clans to join us online, and if it were to work, we would be able to grow much easier as a community, considering the clan would cover a wide range of topics.

I hope this has somewhat convinced you, if not, then I hope the best for this site.

I'm not trashing the site. The only reason we have so little people is because it JUST started. And we aren't limiting everyone on the site to be only Warcraft 3 people. The name of the site is called "The Great Siege", it doesn't mean it's all about that map. We have a section for that. And that's all.

Since I've came back to warcraft 3 (a little less over a week ago,) I've managed to get 2 new heroes into the map. I've gotten a TON of glitches on the map fixed and some easter egg fixes. Also just some overall map improvements.

Another thing is, the only reason we got rid of Ultimate Gamers is because it DIED like, it moved as slow as this site does now. But it was 4 months in. The site is only moving slow now because I started it about 5 days ago.

Actually, we aren't being closed-minded at all. The Great Siege isn't all what the site is about. It's just the name. I liked the name of my map, I wanted to make a website. So I named it after my map and got all my friends from Warcraft to Join.

Anyways.... Making a site takes a while, this one if you ask me is still under construction. And a long time ago, when The Great Siege was still around, 90% of the site really wasn't about the map. If you remember DarkNightDemon who is now GL, she didn't know anything about Warcraft in general. Yet she continued to come on and made a ton of posts.

Another thing is:

I didn't play Warcraft 3 because the computer I had back then phailed (failed[lol]). Now my computer works with Warcraft 3.. And I am capable of playing it again.

I never once said about limiting the site to just Warcraft 3 people.

Through P.M.'s, Whispers, Ventrilo, and even general chat in warcraft 3, you never told me what community we are appealing to. You have yet to specify how we would go about recruiting, and how would we run things from Warcraft 3?

Hence Close-Mindedness because you haven't told me anything about how to recruit or who to recruit.

90% of the Original Great Siege was drama, constant back and forth bickering, and useless talk, and nothing with the map ever got finished anyway, maybe 2 versions were finished the entire time I was there. Your computer didn't fail I remember you on alot, then you wanted to make a Mod for the Great Siege was a failure.

We could have done much more with it, yet because we didn't have everything controlled in a central power, everything was out of order, I never said we restrict the website to simply Warcraft 3 people, but why not have a main place, where we can all meet? Another example of recruiting is also shown, the name "Ultimate Gamers" could have attracted more people, had we got specific groups of people to join, WoW, Halo, and other people, instead of having everyone scavenge together what little game review they had for the site.

She never felt left out or anything. She continued to be one of the most active talkers on our site.

Yes, but if you continued to read, they were the Active members who couldn't even contribute to recruiting and what not.

Well when I said recruit. I didn't mean a specific group of people. I was just saying get anyone you want on the site. I don't care who you invite. As long as they aren't pains.

This website doesn't need to be trashed, the only thing needing to be changed on this website is:
1. The Title- Make it sound professional and not just based on one game, also make the heading picture different.
2. The Background- The background needs to be spiced up so when you get bored of looking at the doodads on the site you have something nice to look at.
Those are the only two things needing change, and once we get our new game Zombie Master up and running and rawr9000 does his own maintenance on The Great Siege we can hopefully have more members.

Non-specific invites, people who will just chill on the site? That's not the best idea, they would have virtually no one but a few people to talk to about their interests, and whos to say they want to talk about Warcraft, which you are apparently saying that half the people who are active don't even wanna play Warcraft, it makes it much harder for people to just stay when things aren't really organized.
